This is pretty exciting for KTM, heck I may even start watching motocross again now. I would have a hard time seeing any of the best young talent such as dungy, canard, villipoto, on KTM. It would be great but I just don't see it happening. KTM motocrosss history is not stellar, compared to the jap bikes history. Reed unfortunately is probably open to it but I don't think he will be winning too many races anymore, just not sure he has the drive anymore, and the young talent is looking pretty good! This will definately be interesting to see how this unfolds.

LMAO - I just had a mental picture of you in the mountains and instead of a camelback you had an oxygen bottle on your back, glad to hear you guys had fun though, I'm sure it was a great trip.

Even though RC, Reed and Dungy has had great success at Suzuki, they all initially had misgivings about going to Suzuki. But went because they wanted to ride for Roger DeCoster. It is my hopes that the top-tier riders will want to ride for KTM as they are a professional organization and DeCoster is now running things.
I never had the sense that DeCoster and Reed were real close. He never spoke of Reed in the same way he spoke of RC and Dungy. DeCoster can spot young talent and he may go with a Canard-like rider over Reed. But, he probably will take Reed as DeCoster knows Reed is wanting to prove that he is still worthy of consideration (nothing like getting fired from your clothing company and I assume Kawi). My money is on Dungy moving to KTM next year (if a breech of contract doesn't send him there this year).
DeCoster wasn't a fan of Alessi (particularly his dad) so it might be a long, uncomfortable year for both of them.
Lastly, something to consider - when RC throws a leg over a bike in the future, will it be a KTM? My guess is it won't be a Suzuki. RC is very loyal to DeCoster.

That's debatable. There are a few 'fast' guys coming up next year. Mr Canard seemed to get along well with big bikes. It will be interesting to watch Mr Alessi's (daddy too) attitude if Reed ends up riding orange bikes.

Thor didnt lose anything by losing Reed, I am not sure this is a good move for KTM. I like the Decoster thing though.

Thanks Dwight - no special hurry on the Bridgestone, actually may have you get me a couple since I'm on my last Dunlop 742FA, appears these are no longer available, and I hear alot of guys liking the Bridgestone 403, but I definately want the 90 vs 80 size. I'll call ya tuesday.
